The Bashful Beaver is a 15,160 s.f. winery and vineyard located in the Willamette Valley, Oregon, about thirty minutes from Portland. The clients for this brand new winery and vineyard are Noah and Courtney, they just bought a home in Wisonville, Oregon and want to start a winery business. They will have a variety of reds, whites, and rose as well as a small appetizer menu. Tours will be held on weekends and consist of a complimentary taste test. They request a small space for live music that is flexible to work for seating. They also want patio space for the customers to enjoy the view of the vineyard. The interior environment will connect with the Oregon west coast vibe.
programmatic statement
The Bashful Beaver will contain a bright, open, and airy atmosphere that will allow for customers to move about comfortably. There will be windows throughout the space to allow for daylight and viewing of the vineyard. The space will display a large amount of texture and color to bring life to the otherwise open and bland space. The goal will be to bring in the feeling from the pacific west coast in a modern and contemporary way.
my story
I decided I wanted to do a winery and vineyard because I really got into winetasting and how wine is made and it became really important to me. I knew I wanted to include a non-profit event set up such as a performance area because someone very dear to me suffered from RA and passed away from a heart attack. This incident has impacted me greatly and I wanted to include her in my space somehow. Raising money for these illnesses through live music will showcase a piece of her. I decided to go with a beaver for the logo because it is the state animal and I wanted to really highlight Oregon as one of the best winemaking states.
